The International Service Human Rights Poetry Competition - Can’t Give ‘Em Up, Can’t Take ‘Em Away

Year 5 and Year 6 pupils from 16 schools from across Yorkshire and the Humber have taken part in the human rights poetry competition.

They learned about children’s rights by thinking about all the things they need in order to be cared for, to play and have free time, to have an identity, and to be educated. They also learned about children around the world who are denied their rights because they are made to work, do not have families or homes, or cannot go to school.

All participating schools are to be congratulated on their excellent work.

Participating schools:

*Y7 pupils from Milthorpe School participated in the activity as an internal competition
